Choosing between ASRS, AMRs, AGVs and conveyors should begin with the warehouse’s operational requirements—not with a particular technology or vendor.
Warehouse automation should be treated as an integrated engineering system, not as a collection of machines. The success of an automated warehouse depends on how well storage technology, material flow, controls, software, building infrastructure, safety systems and operational processes work together. A high-performance ASRS or AMR fleet cannot compensate for poor data, weak process design, incorrect throughput assumptions or poorly defined system interfaces.
